Day 1Nairobi

You will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel Nairobi Olesereni Hotel booked on half board.

Day 2Nairobi – Meru National Park

After an early breakfast, our 13 Days Kenya bird watching tour adventure depart for Meru national park passing through scenic landscape. On clear days you will be able to see the majestic Mount Kenya. Arrival at Meru national park in time for lunch at leopard Rock Lodge or similar.

Some of the birds found in this park are, Augur Buzzard, Crowned Hawk-eagle, Turaco, Moustached Tinkerbird, Mosque Swallow, Black Saw-wing, Sharpe’s Starling, Black-tailed Oriole, Purple-throated Cuckoo-shrike, African Paradise-flycatcher, Cape Robin-Chat, African Stonechat, Broad-ringed White-eye, and Eastern Double-collared Sunbird. Dinner and overnight at leopard Rock Lodge or similar Meal Plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 3Meru National Park

Better part of the morning hours will be spent in the park looking for various species of birds with the help of our tour guide. You will come back for lunch then the rest of the day is spent at leisure at the lodge. Dinner and overnight at leopard Rock Lodge or similar Meal Plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 4Meru National Park – Mount Kenya National park

After a breakfast, you will take a leisure drive heading towards Mt Kenya arriving in time for lunch at Mountain Serena Lodge. After check in you will have some time to refresh and take a siesta. Later your guide will take you around the hotel gardens and the reverie forest for a small bird walk. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Serena Lodge or similar Meal Plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 5Mount Kenya National park

After breakfast have you birding activities at the forest trails the better part of the morning Looking out for globally threaten species such as lesser Kestrel, Sharpe’s Long claw, Abbott’s Starling, Jackson’s Widowbird.

Mount Kenya national park has various bird species which include Hartlaub Turaco, Brown-Hooded Kingfisher, Giant Kingfisher, Grey-olive Greenbul, Zanzibar Sombre Greenbul, Brown-backed Scrub-Robin, Black-Throated Wattle-eye, Singing, Red faced, Winding, Rattling, Croaking Cisiticolas, Mountain Yellow Warbler, African-mustached Warbler, Broad-tailed Warbler, African Golden Weaver, Yellow-crowned Bishop, African Fire finch, Yellow-bellied Wax bill, and Abyssinian Crimson wing. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Serena Lodge or similar Meal Plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 6Mount Kenya to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast depart Mount Kenya and drive to Lake Nakuru National park arriving in time for lunch at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge. Lake Nakuru National Park is referred to as the greatest ornithological spectacle in the world with both Lesser and the Greater Flamingos. Some of the common birds includes the Little Grebe, Great White Pelican, Black-winged Stilt, Gull-billed, Whiskered Tern, Grey-headed Gull, Cape and Red-billed Teal, Southern Pochard, Long-crested, and African Crowned Eagle, White-fronted Bee-eater, Arrow-Marked Babbler, Little Rock Thrush, Wailing Cisticola, Ruppell’s Long-tailed Starling, Lilac-breasted Roller, Cliff Chat and many species of waders. Dinner and over night at the lodge Meal Plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 7Lake Nakuru – Lake Baringo

Depart Lake Nakuru national park and transverse through the Great Rift Valley floor arriving at Lake Baringo before lunch. Transfer by boat to the Baringo island camp. During the boat ride you will be able to view up close the Hippos, Crocodiles and some of the bird species that are found in this area. Arrive at the camp in time for lunch.

In Baringo, we should encounter Slender-tailed Nightjar, Spotted Thick-knee, Northern Masked, little, Jackson’s and vitelline masked weaver, bristle-crowned starling, Hemprich and Jackson’s Horn bills, Mouse- colored Penduline Tit, Brown-tailed Rock Chat, White-faced Scops Owl, Beautiful Sunbird and much more. Dinner and overnight at Baringo island camp or similar Meal Plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 8Lake Baringo – Lake Bogoria

After breakfast, we take a boat ride back to the mainland where we take our safari vehicle and have a leisure drive to the lake Bogoria national park. You will have a bird walk around the geysers and hot springs and a picnic lunch overlooking the Lake Bogoria. Mid noon we drive back to our hotel at the Lake Baringo. Overnight at the camp Meal Plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 9Lake Baringo - Lake Naivasha

We begin our safari from Baringo to Naivasha arriving in time for lunch at Lake Naivasha Sawela Lodge. Lake Naivasha has several bird species. These include; White Pelican, Long-tailed and Great Cormorants, Black Crake, Kingfisher, Green Woodhoopoe, White-headed Barbet, Bearded woodpecker and White-fronted Bee-eater, Winding and Rattling Cisticolas, Grey-headed Bush-shrike and many more. Hirundines can be plentiful, and over half of the species in Kenya can be seen here. Dinner and over night at the lodge Meal Plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 10Naivasha - Masai Mara National Park

after breakfast our safari will head to Masai Mara National park another another perfect destination for birding safari in Kenya arriving in time for lunch at Mara Sopa Lodge. Masai Mara is actually the northern portion of the Great Plains ecosystem Serengeti. It is the home to the “big five” lion, buffalo, rhino, leopard and elephant as well cheetah, zebra, giraffe and vast herds of plain antelope and numerous and other wildlife. Our first game drive will be at 4:00 pm in the evening. Dinner and Overnight at the Lodge meal Plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 11Masai Mara National Park

We will depart for the game drive with our picnic lunch. Maasai Mara provides a good ground for species like, Zitting, Rattling, Stout and Winding Cisticolas, Rofous-naped, Somali short-toed, and white-tailed Lark, Various species of raptors, African Wattled Lapwing, Black-bellied and white-bellied Bustard and many more. Maasai Mara provides a wonderful place to view the wildlife and we will see species like Elephants, Lions, Cheetah, Leopard, Buffaloes and many herbivorous. Dinner and over night at the lodge meal Plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 12Masai Mara National Park

After breakfast we will have another full day game viewing within the reserve. The landscape here is scenic savannah grassland on rolling hills. The reserve is the best park for a game in Kenya as it has an extensive road and track network which allows for close range viewing and photography. Dinner and over night at the lodge meal Plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 13Masai Mara - Nairobi

Morning departure from Masai Mara national reserve driving through the agricultural town of Narok. You will have a brief stopover at the Rift Valley view point at 6000ft and later proceed to Nairobi in time for a farewell lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant. After lunch, you will be taken to the airport to catch your flight back home end of our 13 Days Kenya Bird Watching Tour Adventure
