Amboseli National Park

Amboseli National Park is in southern Kenya. It’s known for its large elephant herds and views of immense Mount Kilimanjaro, across the border in Tanzania. Observation Hill offers panoramas of the peak and the park’s plains and swamps. Varied wildlife includes giraffes, zebras, cheetahs and hundreds of bird species. The western section is dominated by vast Lake Amboseli, which is dry outside the rainy season.

Tsavo East National Park “Theatre of the Wild”

The sight of dust-red elephant wallowing, rolling and spraying each other with the midnight blue waters of palm-shaded Galana River is one of the most evocative images in Africa. This, along with the 300 kilometer long Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world, make for an adventure unlike any other in the Tsavo East. The park forms the largest protected area in Kenya and is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust –red elephant, Rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, pods of hippo, crocodile, waterbucks, lesser Kudu, gerenuk and the prolific bird life features 500 recorded species.

Day 1: Arrival Nairobi JKIA – Nairobi

Welcome to Kenya! After arrival our representative will transfer you to the Tamarind Tree Hotel in Nairobi for overnight on bed and breakfast basis.

Meal plan: Breakfast only

Day 2: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park

After breakfast it is time to start your safari! Leave Nairobi in the morning and drive through typical African savanna country dotted with local homesteads and colorful Maasai herdsmen and their cattle. Game drive en-route to the lodge where you arrive in time for lunch. Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure utilizing the facilities at the lodge and later proceed for an afternoon game drive inside the national park.

Day 3: Amboseli National Park

Continue to explore one of Kenya’s best places to view large herds of elephants up close. But also, most other big safari animals can be spotted here. The black rhino has unfortunately become extinct, but four of the other Big Five are present. The Amboseli National Park is one of Kenya’s most popular parks and on a clear day, you can even see the top of Africa’s highest peak Mount Kilimanjaro.

With all this and more to see in the park, you might decide to spend a full day there instead of returning to the lodge for lunch. For this day, you can discuss your final program with your guide. In the evening dinner and overnight at Amboseli Sentrim Lodge.

Day 4: Amboseli National Park – Ziwani (1hr night drive)

Game drive en-route when leaving the Amboseli area and enjoy scenic route touching the border with Tanzania towards Ziwani. Arrive in time for lunch at the camp and enjoy the facilities and optional activities on offer. Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure utilizing the facilities at the camp. The camp is located on the western edge just outside the Tsavo West National Park, in a game rich private sanctuary which affords night game drives (strictly between 7-8pm).

Day 5: Ziwani – Tsavo West National Park

Continue your safari into the Tsavo West National Park. Game drive en-route to the Severin Safari Camp where you will spend two nights in an en-suite safari tent. The camp offers guests a unique combination of adventure, wellness, personal service and culinary highlights.

Day 6: Tsavo West National Park

Exciting morning and afternoon drives through Kenya’s largest park. Explore the park’s hilly scenic landscapes and include a visit to the Mzima springs to view hippos and crocodiles. This park is a vast expansion of African savanna with a more diverse array of habitats which include open plains, semi desert scrub, woodland, Chyulu Hills and rock outcrops.

Day 7: Tsavo West National Park – Tsavo East National Park

Leave Tsavo West and continue to the adjacent Tsavo East. Once in the park start exploring the red soil plains with game spotting and scenery viewing en-route to the camp where you arrive in time for lunch. In the afternoon, take a short rest before proceeding to the open plains of Tsavo East for relaxed game viewing drives. In de evening dinner and overnight at Satao Camp.

Day 8: Transfer to Kenyan Coast or Nairobi

Game drive en-route when leaving the park and drive via the tarmac highway to Nairobi or the Kenyan coast where you are expected to arrive around noon. If you would like to end your safari at the beach, we would love to help you find a matching beach hotel to fully relax and unwind along the beautiful beaches of the Kenyan South and North coast
