This pretty park is adorned with waterfalls, acacia forest, and dramatic rocky escarpments. It also offers lots of birdlife like pelicans, cormorants, ostriches and even pink, flamingoes. Should you desire to see flamingoes in even greater numbers, we offer the choice of visiting Lake Bogoria National Reserve, which often features great flocks of the brightly colored birds.

Then on day 5 of this medium-length safari, we arrive at what is probably the most famous wildlife park in the world – Masai Mara National Reserve. 7 Days Kenya Lodge Safari Holiday Tour Package

Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara

Pick up from the airport by our tour manager, and depart for Masai Mara Game Reserve, which is commonly known for ‘big five’. It takes about five hours to get there via Narok. Arrive in time for lunch, the afternoon game drive. In November 2006, the Masai Mara was named as the 7th wonder of the world because of what experts termed as “the uniqueness of the area and the preservation it provides to so many species living in harmony.” It is understandable because this annual migration is the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth.

The Maasai Mara National Reserve is 270 km from Nairobi, a five-hour drive or 45 min by air. For a full package of scenery, game and the ultimate bush experience, the Mara is the place to be. The National Reserve was the shooting location for the film Out of Africa and rema0.ins the location for the British Broadcasting Corporation’s big cat wildlife series.

The resting place of the big five, the reserve’s major attraction is the great wildebeests and zebra’s migration from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Mara. This annual event happens between July and September and is the greatest show on earth. These animals cross over to Kenya through the Mara River. You are bound to see the pretentious crocodiles lazing away under the water only to dramatically break out of their sleep and snap up the migrating wildebeests and zebra.

Dinner and overnight at Mara Base Camp or similar

Day 2:  Maasai Mara

Day 3: Mara – Nakuru

After breakfast check out and have an en-route game drive as you drive into the Great Rift Valley. Arrive in Nakuru National Park in time for lunch. After lunch proceed for an evening game drive in the park, which has some rare animals like white rhinos and Rothschild giraffes.

Lake Nakuru National Park; Located 160km Northwest of Nairobi, is home to millions of fuchsia pink flamingoes, the fish eating pelicans as well as over 450 other species of birds. It is also a good location for game viewing, including the black rhino, the lion, and the waterbuck as well as other antelopes.

Lake Nakuru National Park is one of the best places to see the leopard as well as the endangered Rothschild Giraffes. The national park was gusseted to protect the flamingoes and also provide sanctuary to endangered species like the rhino. Although the main attraction to the park is the pink flamingos, a visitor will also get to see plenty of giraffes, waterbucks and other game.

Dinner and overnight at the Lake Nakuru Water Buck Hotel

Day 4: Nakuru – Nairobi – Tsavo East

After breakfast depart for Nairobi for Early lunch and then proceed to Tsavo East National Park arriving in the afternoon and enjoy an afternoon game drive till dusk.  The Tsavo East park has an interesting and diverse history including: The Waliangulu and Kamba tribes used the park as a hunting ground prior to gazette-ment; the first European to see Mount Kenya, rev. Dr. L. Krapf, journeyed on foot through this area in 1848; during the construction of the railway bridge over the Tsavo River in 1898, lions (the famed man-eaters of Tsavo) terrorized the workers, killing over 130 people before being killed by Col. J. H. Patterson. During World War 1, British forces along the Tsavo river to counter threats from invading German soldiers from Tanganyika (now Tanzania); the European Explorer Captain Lugards a European explorer passed through the area on his way to Uganda.

Dinner and overnight at Voi Safari lodge.

Day 5:  Tsavo East – Tsavo West

After a pre breakfast game drive, and a sumptuous breakfast buffet, cross over to the western part of the park and spend the day game viewing with a picnic lunch and bush dinner in the evening.

Tsavo West Park is a vast expanse of savannah stretching from Mtito Andei, along the Mombasa – Nairobi road south to the Tanzania border. The north eastern boundary along the highway adjoins Tsavo east National park but Tsavo west has more varied topography and more diverse array of habitats than its neighbor.

Dinner and overnight at Ngulia Safari Lodge.

Day 6: Tsavo –  Amboseli

Enjoy a pre – breakfast game drive and have a look at this wonderful attraction at sunrise which is considered the pearl of Africa. After breakfast cross over to the nearby Amboseli and game drive as you head to the lodge for check in.

Amboseli National park is renowned for its huge elephant herds. Africa’s highest Mountain – Mt Kilimanjaro sits on the upper slopes of Amboseli National park. Mt. Kilimanjaro snow white peak lies across the border in Tanzania. Seeing the Kilimanjaro hovering above the clouds in the early hours of the morning is quite an experience. For the enthusiastic photographer, animal pictures arising against the dramatic backdrop of the mountain is quite a thrill. Apart from the Elephants, Amboseli is a home to; buffalos, black rhinos, zebras, wildebeest and other plain animals.

Tour Reviews

May 29, 2020

We (me and my husband) did a 9 day tour, including: Tsavo East, Tsavo West, Amboseli, Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara. We typically travel as our own adventure (rent a car, drive around and have all the freedom to change plans as you go), which we realized wasn’t possible for Safaris, so we wanted a tour company with some flexibility. We really appreciated being able to pick the national parks to visit, pick the places to stay at, and even though the itinerary was pretty much set, we still have some flexibility in terms being able to stop for lunch or coffee etc, compared to taking a tour with a larger group. We enjoyed every single national park – our tour guide was very knowledgable, he was amazing at spotting animals, and really did his best to make sure we get to see as many animals as possible.
Tsavo East was a great start, there is not a lot of animals (compared to Masai Mara) but barely any tourist. We saw beautiful elephant families (red in color due to the soil color in the area).
Tsavo West is very unique and remote park. close to the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, it’s very different with many bushes. Even though that makes it harder to spot animals, it offers beautiful scenery. We also saw a leopard here. Amboseli is quite small but the number of elephant families were just breathtaking. Looking back – we would consider skipping Lake Nakuru, even though it’s the only place we saw Rhinos, it’s little bit out of the way and adds quite a bit of driving time. Finally Masai Mara is pretty awesome! The number of animals we saw in one place was just breathtaking, besides seeing few lion prides with cute lion cubs. Even though the park was also quire crowded with other tourist.
Overall very happy with our trip, and with Claudious tour company. The service was very personalized, besides the safari tour including airport pickup & airport drop off, lunch after Safari back in Nairobi, and Claudious and Francis checked with us few times during our trip how it’s going. If we come back to Kenya we would definitely go with them again!
