Day 1: Arrive in Nairobi

Pick up from the airport on arrival by our representative and transfer you to Ibis Style hotel for your overnight stay. The hotel is booked on bed and breakfast basis. The following your guide will meet you at the hotel of course briefing about the safari and thereafter start your safari.

Day 2: Nairobi – Masai Mara National Park

Pick up from your hotel at 0730 hrs and drive via the scenic Great Rift Valley, to the Mara Reserve arriving in good time for lunch. After lunch, we will an afternoon game drive in Masai Mara National Park. Maasai Mara game reserve as the highest number of different species and you will be lucky to see hundreds of them. A game drive to Mara River is compulsory, if it will be during great migration time you will witness the same otherwise you will see crocodiles and hippos at the river. Dinner and overnight at Mara Simba Oryx Camp.

Day 4: Masai Mara Wildebeest Migration Safari trails

The Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya forms part of the larger Serengeti ecosystem, incorporating the Serengeti National Park in neighboring Tanzania. These two premier game parks together host one of the most massive wildlife migrations on the planet – the Great Migration. Also known as the Wildebeest Migration this wildlife spectacle entails the seasonal movement of millions of wildebeest, zebra and other grazers. The Great Migration is a truly awe-inspiring wildlife phenomena with stampeding hoofed mammals charging across the open plains and plunging into the crocodile-infested rivers in search of fresh grazing. Of course, these great herbivore numbers attract an array of eager predators, in addition to the hungry crocs.

Day 5: Masai Mara Full Day

After breakfast, you will have a full day to spend in this vast game reserve. You can either have a morning and afternoon game drive, or have breakfast and then head out on a full-day game drive with picnic lunches. Masai Mara is known as one of Africa’s greatest wildlife reserves, situated in south-west Kenya. It is famous for the abundance of the big cats – lions, leopards, cheetahs – and also for the Masai people, well known for their distinctive culture. Soak in the abundance of untamed wilderness, fresh and natural scenery, filled with exotic wildlife during our expertly guided game drives enjoyed in open vehicles.

Africa has a long history of capturing the imagination of travelers, a continent of dramatic contrasts that gives you an unforgettable and remarkable experience whether it’s in an amazement of watching thousands of wild beasts struggling across a rushing river that is littered with crocodiles waiting for their prey, makes the world’s premier wildlife spectacle. The afternoon is spent on a game drive in search of the black manned lions which the park is famous.

Lion making a kill can be witnessed in the late afternoon or a leopard in a tree enjoying the meal he has dragged up to avoid disturbance and detection. This reserve has hilly savanna, rolling grasslands, gallery forest on the Mara River and its tributaries. The ‘big five’ are positively represented here. The large predators are the lion, leopard and cheetah. The smaller predators are the hyena and jackal. The large herbivores are the elephant, rhino, Burchell’s zebra, hippo, buffalo and giraffe.

The smaller herbivores are the antelope and bucks. The Maasai ostrich, the world’s largest bird is also found in the park. The advantage of a private safari is that you only need to take your own wishes and those of your travel companion into account. Lunch is served picnic style in the bush, an amazing experience! Day 6: Masai Mara Full Day

After breakfast, full day exploring the park in search of the Big 5 with a possibility of seeing the annual wildebeest migration that takes place from July to September every year. Optional hot air Balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of US$ 400 per person. Masai Mara is arguably Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary. It is the most famous and most visited game reserve in Kenya. The film ‘Out of Africa’ was made to a great extent in this reserve.

Virtually every type of wildlife can be seen at the Mara. A spectacle worth seeing is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle from Serengeti plains across the Tanzania border and the Mara River to reach Masai Mara grazing fields from late June. The dramatic crossing of the river and the preying on the migrants by predators can be viewed from early July to August. The reserve abounds with bird-life since dose to about 452 species have been recorded.

Day 7: Masai Mara Full Day

Masai Mara is Kenya’s finest wildlife reserve. Elephant and buffalo abound in the riverine forests, while out on the grasslands Impala and Thompson’s gazelle can be seen together with their attendant predators including lion, cheetah, hyena and jackal.

The Mara is the northern extension of the Serengeti ecosystem and plays host to the vast herds of wildebeest and zebra during the months of July to October. In addition, lesser known species such as topi, hartebeest, waterbuck eland and many small mammals create a kaleidoscopic picture.

Day 8: Masai Mara / Lake Nakuru

Breakfast then depart for Lake Nakuru National park arriving in good time for lunch at the camp later afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru is a shallow alkaline lake on the edges of Nakuru town. The lake is world famous as home to millions of flamingos. The number of flamingos depends on the water level which determines the quantity of algae on which the birds feed. Flamingos are known to migrate to other Rift Valley lakes whenever the water level is low. There are about 25 white and black rhinos, one of the largest concentrations in the country. Predators are also residents to this park while Rothschild’s giraffe have been trans-located into the park for safety. Return to the camp for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 9: Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha

After an early breakfast there will be a final game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. The drive continues to Kenya’s highest lake, at 1,880 metres above sea level, Lake Naivasha. Lake Naivasha is a beautiful freshwater lake, fringed by thick papyrus. You will observe Hippos lazing in the lake and Buffalos grazing on the shores. There are over 300 species of birds to observe. These include the Grey-capped Warbler, Spectacled Weaver, Brimstone Canary, and the Red-billed fire finch. Lunch will be served at Lake Naivasha Kongoni Safari Lodge. In the afternoon there are boat trips on the lake or nature walks on crescent Island. You will have the chance to see some of the animals at very close range e.g. Zebras, Giraffes and Wildebeest.

Day 10: Lake Naivasha – Nairobi
